Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your access to and use of ChatD4C. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ChatD4C.

2. What ChatD4C does

ChatD4C lets you upload or connect your own communications and records, search them, and generate source-cited summaries to help you understand your own case. It is an informational and organisational tool only.

3. Not legal advice

Nothing produced by ChatD4C is legal advice or a substitute for the judgement of a qualified professional. Reports are generated by AI from the material you provide and may contain errors, omissions or misinterpretations. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on, and for how you use it.

4. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

5. Acceptable use

You agree that you will only use ChatD4C with data you are legally entitled to possess and process. You will not:

• upload data obtained unlawfully, or that you have no right to access (for example, another person’s private accounts without authority);
• use the service to harass, intimidate, defame or unlawfully surveil any person;
• attempt to break security, isolation between cases, or access data that is not yours;
• use the service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of a court order.

6. Your content

You keep all rights in the data you provide. You grant ChatD4C only the limited licence needed to host, process and display that data to deliver the service to you and the people you invite. We claim no ownership of your evidence or reports. You can export or delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Connected accounts

If you connect a third-party account (such as read-only Gmail look-back), you authorise ChatD4C to access it as described at the time you connect, solely to provide the service for your case. You can disconnect at any time.

8. Fees

ChatD4C is currently provided free of charge while in early access. We will give you clear notice before introducing any fees, and you will never be charged without first agreeing to a paid plan.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep ChatD4C available and accurate but provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change or remove features, and may suspend the service for maintenance or to protect users.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChatD4C is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for any decision you make based on the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, while the service is free, is nil). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Termination

You may stop using ChatD4C and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the service.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, unless mandatory local law where you live provides otherwise.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
